SOS Approach to feeding "Picky Versus Problem Eaters"
The SOS approach to feeding is based upon a developmental sequence of learning about food through a sensory prospective. Our therapist work with the child and family to expand the child's interest in food by helping to bridge favoriate foods to non-preferred, therefore expanding the food choices and dietary nutrition.
Interactive Metronome
Interactive Metronome is used in therapy to help children organize and sequence motor movements and executive functioning skills for being able to process and problem solve. Our therapist are trained in using the program to help children with attention deficits, motor planning, and executive functioning skills to improve awareness, timing, memory and learning.
Astronaut Training
Astronaut Training is a program that is used in therapy to help stimulate the vestibular/auditory/visual triad. Children benefit from this therapy if they have a difficult time with movement or difficulty focusing.
Therapeutic Listening
Therapeutic listening is a sound-based intervention used in therapy that works on listening with the whole body. The program incorporates the connection between the auditory and vestibular sensory systems by modified music which is adjusted to certain decibles and sound frequencies. Neurologically the system is connected to all levels of brain and how we listen impacts our overall physiology, and behaviors.
Essential Oils for ADHD and Autism
Essential oils can be used for mood management beyond the way they smell. Essential oils penetrate the cells of the body affecting chemistry through cellular regeneration. Certain oils have been used to help children with Autism and ADHD with attention and emotional regulation.
